Community Guidelines

• Your own experience of a place, told honestly.
• Practical help: what worked, what you would do differently, what to know before going.
• Questions asked in good faith and answers given to be useful.
• Photos you took yourself or have the right to share.

• Nudity, sexual content, or graphic violence and gore.
• Hate, harassment, threats, or attacks on a person or a group of people.
• Profanity and slurs, including disguised spellings.
• Other people’s private information, or photos of people who would not want them published.
• Advertising, spam, affiliate links, or content written to promote a business.
• Anything illegal, or advice that would put travellers in danger.
• Writing or photos copied from someone else without the right to use them.
• Pretending to be someone you are not.

• Text is checked for prohibited language before it is published.
• Photos are checked automatically before a journal is published, and a profile photo before it appears. A photo that clearly breaks the rules is blocked; one that is uncertain is held until a person has looked at it.
• Anyone can report a journal, a question, an answer or a profile. Reports are reviewed by a person, who is alerted when something is held or reported. Who made a report is never shown to anyone.
• You can block another explorer, which hides what they publish from you.
• Content that breaks these guidelines is removed. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to an account being closed.
