Terms of Use
Last updated 25 October 2026
Draft. This page is a working draft that has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes how Globeway works today and will be replaced by the final version before the app is released.
These terms apply when you use the Globeway app or the website at globeway.app. Globeway is made and run by Boreal Software LLC, a Michigan limited liability company (“we” in these terms). By using Globeway you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
Your account
You need an account to publish, to save things across devices, and to buy Premium or a Trip Pass. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. You must be at least 17 years old to create one.
What you publish
Explorer Journals, questions, answers and your Public Explorer Profile are yours. By publishing them you give us permission to store them and show them to other people using the app, for as long as they stay published. You can delete them at any time.
Everything you publish must follow the Community Guidelines. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Published text and photos are screened automatically, other explorers can report content, and we may remove content or close accounts that break the guidelines.
Only publish photos and writing that are your own or that you have the right to share.
Travel information and trip plans
Globeway’s destination pages and stories are written and checked with care, but places change. Entry rules, safety conditions, prices, weather and opening times can be out of date. Check official sources before you travel.
Itineraries from the Trip Planner are written by artificial intelligence as a first draft for you to adjust. They are suggestions, not bookings and not professional advice. The planner does not check opening hours, prices or availability. Weather in the Travel Companion is a forecast and can be wrong. You are responsible for your own travel decisions and arrangements.
Globeway Premium and Trip Passes
- Premium Monthly and Premium Annual are subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Free trial. When a free trial is offered on a plan, the app says so before you buy, with the length of the trial and the price that follows it. The trial becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. A trial is available once per Apple account.
- A Trip Pass is a one-time purchase that covers planning one trip. It does not renew.
- Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple account (or by Google through your Google account on Android, when that app is released). You can cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple or Google account settings; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
- Fair-use limits apply to the Trip Planner so that it stays available to everyone: a number of new trips each month for members, and a number of AI changes for each trip. The app shows what remains.
- Prices may change; a change to a subscription price will be notified to you by Apple or Google before it applies.
Globeway's content
The app, the website and their text, maps and design belong to Boreal Software LLC or are used under licence. Photo and map credits are listed in the app under Credits. You may use Globeway for your own personal, non-commercial travel planning and reading; please do not copy it wholesale or resell it.
Ending your use
You can stop using Globeway and delete your account at any time in Profile & Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines.
Liability
Globeway is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Boreal Software LLC is not liable for losses arising from reliance on travel information, weather or trip plans in the app, or from interruptions to the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law does not allow to be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, except where the law of the place you live gives you protections that cannot be taken away.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top will change and the app will say so.
